Concrete Roof Waterproofing
Surface waterproofing systems for concrete roofs and exposed slabs, selected after assessing the site.
Surface preparation, crack and joint treatment, cementitious waterproofing and protective coatings are selected around the existing surface and site conditions.
What we assess first
- Concrete roof slabs and exposed concrete areas
- Surface preparation and pressure cleaning where appropriate
- Crack, joint, upturn and drainage detailing
- Cementitious or coating systems compatible with the substrate
Assessment before agreeing the repair scope
Photos and videos help the initial discussion, but the final treatment depends on the substrate, access and source of water. VROOF does not select a waterproofing system from the visible stain alone.
Choosing the right approach
Balconies form part of concrete-slab assessment, with different preparation for tiled or mosaic finishes and exposed concrete. Tiles require checks of grout, adhesion and trapped moisture; exposed concrete requires substrate preparation and crack, edge and drainage detailing. A concrete waterproofing coating is also different from a protective roof coating; the intended system and purpose must be specified.
