Balcony Waterproofing
Balcony leak assessment and waterproofing, including options over existing finishes when conditions allow.
Water can enter through grout, joints, wall junctions and outlets. Treatment depends on the existing tile or mosaic finish and the condition of the layers beneath it.
What we assess first
- Assessment of existing tiled or mosaic balconies
- Joint, perimeter and outlet detailing
- A no-hack coating approach where suitable
- Drainage and ponding considered as part of the scope
Assessment before agreeing the repair scope
Photos and videos help the initial discussion, but the final treatment depends on the substrate, access and source of water. VROOF does not select a waterproofing system from the visible stain alone.
Choosing the right approach
Tiled or mosaic balconies need checks of grout, tile adhesion, moisture beneath the finish, falls and outlets. Exposed-concrete balconies need assessment of the substrate, cracks, joints and a suitable coating or membrane system. Coating over tiles is not suitable for every case and does not itself repair loose tiles or failed falls.
