Torch-On Membrane Waterproofing
Heat-bonded bituminous membrane systems for suitable concrete roofs and exposed slabs.
The existing surface, falls, outlets, upturns and old waterproofing system are assessed before recommending a torch-on membrane.
What we assess first
- Suitability of the concrete roof slab
- Surface preparation and compatible primer
- Membrane overlaps, upturns and perimeter detailing
- Drainage and ponding conditions before installation
Assessment before agreeing the repair scope
Photos and videos help the initial discussion, but the final treatment depends on the substrate, access and source of water. VROOF does not select a waterproofing system from the visible stain alone.
Choosing the right approach
A membrane needs continuous laps and detailing, rather than coverage of the middle of the slab alone. A heat-applied system also needs a hot-work safety assessment and checks of surrounding materials. Drainage and ongoing maintenance remain important after installation.
